Armidale's 2010 Walter Taylor Shield team |
Junior cricket in the Armidale & District is excited that the Buildplan Group have once again pledged their support by being the major sponsor for the 2011 Walter Taylor Shield. Mr Bill Wheeler, general manager of Buildplan, has been a strong advocate for developing our junior cricketers and this is much appreciated by the local cricketing community. It is no coincidence that a number of our junior players achieve high representative honours and progress to make an impression in the senior ranks.

| Feedback from the Bradman Foundation Junior Cricket Coaching Camp held in Armidale from 26th - 29th September has been very positive. Parents, organisers and the young players all seemed to be suitably impressed. The Bradman Foundation coaching staff have stated that the players that attended were amongst the best behaved and enthusiastic in all of the camps that they have held. The camp is aimed at boys and girls aged from 11 to 17, regardless of skill levels. There is a strong emphasis on 'the spirit of the game' as well as providing training in technical and physical skills and also the mental and tactical elements of the game.
